ŞAHİN LATİFECİ
(b. 1997, Diyarbakır) is a multidisciplinary artist. He completed his bachelor's degree in the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Akdeniz University. He opened his first solo exhibition titled "Peripheral Neuropathy" in Antalya (2023). Adopting a multidisciplinary approach in his artistic practice, Latifeci critiques identity, memory, and the stereotypical norms in society through performance, video, and painting. Memory plays a central role in Latifeci's works as a fundamental element shaping the identities of individuals and society. By intertwining traces of the past with the present, the artist offers viewers the opportunity to reconsider forgotten or suppressed memories. He has written articles on contemporary art for publications such as ‘Kibele Culture Art’, ‘Mozart Cultures’, and ‘Art Critique’. His works have been exhibited in Brussels, Rome, New Delhi, and Paris. He represented Turkey at the Intercontinental Biennial (Brazil, Panama, Puerto Rico).
